Hikarins! Are any of you into the trades? Are any of you building anything? How many tools do you have? Favorite brand? Which one are you in? Here're my tools: >Stanley impact drill tool kit & measuring tape >Black & Decker files, gloves & rotary tool >Handsaw, handscrews & swiss army knife I am too poor for Dewalt and Milwaukee down

>>

I spent my teenage years working with my dad running around on roofs, though I was mostly doing brainless lifting and not much tool work. But it was a lot of fun. Right now I'm just slowly working on fixing up and maintaining my car and getting tools for that as I need them, which is also a lot of fun.

>>

>>11885 Cna you teach me about how to fix carsvengence I have a drivers test soon

>>

>>11889 you don't need to know how to fix cars to get your license silly hikarin laugh you should learn how to do basic maintenance like change oil, replace air filter, replace tires, maybe change brake pads, etc.

>>

>>11890 wait is changing oil easy can i do it myself i dont know how an air filter looks like....

>>

>>11901 yes, the basic idea is: >put car on jack >unscrew cap under car and drain oil into pan >close cap >replace oil just be sure you are putting the right kind of oil as well as using the recommended amount (don't want to overfill it). most of the time you can just look it up. the air filter usually is just something you simply pull out and slide a new one in. that can also be looked up and easily done.

>>11892 Saturday is perfect, I have SO much vitriol towards Mondays

>>

Monday because it's the day of NEET dominance Sometimes I'll go get groceries when all the wagies are trying to get home from work, to add to the traffic and slow them down, while appreciating the environment and looking at school girls, because I have all day. It's comfy.

>>

Sunday, because I still have to get busy in school during Saturday.

Hikarin you dumb idiot! The year is about to end! What are you going to do next year? Any resolutions? surprised

>>
1000021593.jpg - 171.00 KB (470x558)

>>11759 No, not done with uni. Still a few years to go, i'm a part time student so it's taking some time. Working on it tho! >Any routines you recommend to get fit? Honestly I have been lifting so long I make my own routine based on what lifts I enjoy. There are plenty of beginner routines online, as long as you're doing compound lifts (aka exercises that hit multiple muscle groups, bench press, leg press, and lat pulldowns for example) and hitting all of your muscle groups (push, pull, legs, core) you'll be off to a great start. >And have money by the end of the year! Don't we all... laugh

>>

>>11766 Sorry hold on I didn't explain that well. Compound exercises hit multiple muscles. Like a pull up targets your back and bicep muscles. Compared to an isolated lift, like a bicep curl, that really only targets the bicep. And you want to work out different muscle groups. Push is chest and triceps, pull is back and bicep, legs and core are self explanatory. In the beginning it is common to do full-body days where you do an exercise that hits every group each day, but later on weightlifters usually switch to doing each group on separate days to hit them more intensely. If I were to create a beginner routine, it would be something real simple like: 3 (sets) x 8 (reps) dumbell chest press 3x8 lateral pulldown or assisted pull-up 3x8 leg press and three sets of however many crunches you can manage. Don't fall for the meme of autistically optimizing your lifts, do whatever you enjoy within reason. Lifting is in art as much as it is a science.

I had a resolution that I was going to keep my room clean. I even did a deep cleaning of my room shortly before new years but I'm already failing at this since my room is already becoming a shithole again. How the fuck do people keep their rooms clean?

>>

>>11834 On the other hand, im wondering how people get it dirty. The worst I have is desk clutter from a lack of room. I put my clothes in my hampers, make my bed every morning (it takes 30 seconds at most). I clean sheets and vacuum maybe... once a month lol. could be better. What the hell are you doing to get it so dirty? Is it like... food dirty? Like plates???

Hikarins! I just went to a book fair, and bought three books. Have any of you went to one? Enjoyed it?

>>

Never been to one. What books did you get?

>>

>>11882 I got Paradise Lost, and How Markets Work for far less than they were worth since I bartered with the shopkeeper, it was fun. I really wanted a manga they had in a shop but was really expensive.

Any other Hikarin here use Anki? What decks do ye use? Has it been successful? I'm using it for Chinese, also hoping to use it for GED problems happyhappy

>>

Recently, I started by using the 1.5k Kanji beginner deck. It seems incredibly useful and I've been supplementing it by starting on Wanikani as well as the Tofugu guide for Hiragana

>>11798 Do you use FSRS with it? I'm using a 1k Mandarin deck to get better happy2 Make sure not to press hard with FSRS, incase There're some addons you should get with Anki, there is one that covers each day of progress https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/939347702 heres a cool one happy Good luck-a Hikarin! Whats a Wanikani and Tofugu down

>>

Can't say I even know what the FSRS feature is but cards seem enough for now Wanikani is a Kanji learning website and Tofugu a website with an incredibly detailed step by step guide for learning Japanese

Creepy story time for Hikarins! So, today, I was on a road trip with my family to attend an event. When we were coming back home, I was kind of sleepy. We were on the road, and we were going ahead in a pretty moderate speed. And then we approached a bridge. So, on the left hand side, I saw a woman. I was surprised since she seemed to walking towards the road which I'd presumed was a highway. She was in the middle of a winding road? From the highway to the water source, because it was a bridge. I swear I could see her pointing at me. Her other hand was at the top, and she was carrying an object. When we went ahead, she disappeared. She didn't move, she just went out of thin air. I was surprised, and I looked ahead once more. She wasn't there. I thought I was wrong, but as we went ahead, I started hearing noises from underneath our vehicle and from the left side, once more. I don't know if anyone hit her. The vehicles were stopped in the middle because there was an accident on our way. They were mechanical, but kind of like gas and vapor. I interpreted it as the world sending her away through spontaneous combustion. It was creepy and strange. The woman just disappeared. And we were at the side. Maybe she drowned. Because everyone was focused on the road.

>>

>>11754 I like to prank people like this. I can only guess their reactions will be delightful.

I was at the metro a few months back, in a country I'd been visiting for a few days. I saw a girl who I had an instant crush on, and I regret never speaking to her, since I had to leave for my ride. Did any of you Hikarins feel anything similar? There's this regret I have in my mind over it. It never leaves me, I don't know what it is.

>>

Yeah

>>

>>11783 An "anima projection" phenomenon. I wouldn't worry about it. Because I don't.

>>

>>11785 >anima projection First time hearing about this, seems to be a Jungian thing, thanks Hikarin nya
