What makes you feel peaceful?

>>

Driving at night, mainly in more empty roads by hills and stuff. Since I was young I always liked car rides home at night because it was just calming.

>>2980 much like >>2981 driving at night. driving in general, really, it feels nice to just ride along looking out the window while a nice song plays. staring out the window while listening to music, also, especially during a rainstorm. browsing the internet really late at night is another thing that makes me feel peaceful. listening to sad music and feeling melancholy also makes me feel peaceful i'm realizing that i like music a lot lol

Listening to Touhou music while doing anything, with both headphones on and no one to bother me. Reading a book is really nice too.

>>3043 Books about linguistics and languages, books about history, books about Japan and Japanese culture, books about sports, books about the internet... Currently I am rereading The Rhaeto-Romance Languages, but I barely have had time for reading recently

>>3047 Oh that's very interesting, it's rare to come across another Anonymous with an interest in linguistics. Admittedly I focus mostly on phonetics, like the Japanese adaptation of English /æ/ over the last couple centuries, or the central allophone of /u/ in つ/す/ちゅ/etc. Recently I've been looking a bit into Germanic aspiration and Spanish reduction of /s/, the former casts an unexpectedly wide net into something that's usually glossed over. Some time ago I also had a discussion which drifted from Beautiful Fighting Girl into the influence of Eva and sekai-kei, and more recently one about isekai as a genre separate from portal fantasy where I relied heavily on a pretty nice paper titled A Survey of the Story Elements of Isekai Manga. Do you usually post about this stuff yourself? I do so fairly regularly over on kissu.moe, it's where all the above took place. >>3083 On the topic of the web, Gretchen McCulloch's Because Internet is not bad at all. Pretty neat analyses with a nice attitude overall.
