Book Recommendations Anonymous 03/25/2024 (Mon) 23:14:19 No. 4636
Help me find something to read, fiction or non-fiction. I prefer history, essays and investigative journalism rather than philosophy and science. I'm fine with novels but I like short stories more.
>>
>>4636 I really like the book of the new sun series by gene wolfe no clue if you would like it or not.
>>
What are some of your favorite short stories? Then I'll know what kind of stuff to rec
>>
>>4640 I just read half of the stories from the first Gene Wolfe compilation (Dr. Death) but I guess I don't get it. On the side of science fiction I do remember liking some of the stories in the "Mirrorshades" anthology. I don't really care about genre. And now that you mention it, it is hard to pinpoint stuff that I really liked. I did enjoy Lu Xun short stories and the Droll Stories from Balzac even though I thought I wouldn't.
>>
>>4642 Have you ever heard of malazan book of the fallen ?
>>
There are no books worth reading at all. And I can explain why. For non-fiction, you can already look up things on the internet. Books could be acceptable for fiction, but I personally am a moe addict so they don't pass. Before you say that I'm a z**mer with no attention span or whatever, you should know that I like reading visual novels, so it's not like I hate reading.
>>
>>4648 you're not funny and should go back to 4chan

>>4649 No, not everyone who disagrees with you is trying to be funny or whatever.
>>
>>4680 so to you "there are no books worth reading" is a completely serious/pertinent response to a thread asking for book recommendations

>>4686 wtf does pertient mean you fuckign nerd get a life why would anyone read a book when videos exist?? *shits in my hand and throws it in your face*
>>
>>4686 Yes. Not everyone is mechanical, and it's common for people to answer a different thing than what was expected from the question. More specifically, telling someone not to do it when someone asks how to do something.
