I consider myself a VN snob but I liked it when everyone was hating on it. it's a good western VN. it's very bare bones. not that much to the characters at all. but it doesn't try to be a big deal. it's just fun. for me, natsuki and sayori are the best dokis. I'd take natsuki if I had to pick between the two. I'll save art and browse for natsuki/sayori from time to time.

The 'kawaii' aesthetic felt so fake and forced I could've told this was some 'subversion for subversion's sake' type game even without the countless warnings, like the entire thing feels like the dev only knows of the stereotype of a visual novel so making it all spoopy and glitchy would make it interesting. Could've been a great comfy title with something for the literature geeks, but it went for the normie 4th wall horror angle which feels like a total waste.

I hate DDLC, the creator is literally a tr(...) who hates otaku culture, and he made this shitty dishonest VN to mock it. The only reason why this piece of shit got so popular is because of those soy face youtubers and streamers who play the shittiest indie "horror" "games" for some attention and ad/donation shekels. A better western VN is Katawa Shoujo. While it has some issues, it's a much more genuine work that tries to capture the soul of Japanese VNs.
